During the second stage's first burn, a liquid oxygen leak could be observed coming from the second stage fuel tanks. During a planned second burn of the Merlin Vacuum engine, the engine exploded however the remainder of the launch vehicle stayed in tact. All 20 Starlink satellites were deployed into a suboptimal orbit as a last resort however they deorbited and burned up in the atmosphere due to increased atmospheric drag in the lower deployment altitude.
