Information
Space Launch Complex 6 is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Originally constructed in the 1960s for the Titan III program, the site was later repurposed in the 1980s to support Space Shuttle launches from the West Coast, though no shuttle missions ultimately flew from the pad. In the 1990s, SLC-6 was adapted for Titan IV launches, and from 2006 it became the West Coast home of United Launch Alliance’s Delta IV family, supporting both Medium and Heavy variants until 2022. In 2023, SpaceX took over the site with plans to modify it for Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launches, alongside building landing facilities nearby to recover boosters from West Coast missions.
