The highly classified Zuma payload appears to have failed to separate from the Falcon 9 second stage. The payload adapter for this mission was supplied by Northrop Grumman. According to SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell, the Falcon 9 launch vehicle performed "as expected" supporting the theory that the failure was not on SpaceX's part and thus this launch is classified as a success
